Dear Miami...

Two days before leaving Utila my dad called saying that he was going to be in Miami the following weekend and he would love to see me, so I booked a ticket (really excited!) from Managua for Saturday evening, coming back to Panama City on Monday night.
We were finally leaving the scuba diving paradise; first we took a bus to Tegucigalpa, where we spent one uneventful night, then another full day bus to Managua.

Nicaragua’s capital seemed quite unfriendly, so we didn’t do much there, except for a quick visit to the market to buy a few hammocks for my family. While I was on my way to Miami, poor Asia spent one more night in Managua and the next morning went on a 33 hour bus ride to Panama City.

I was thrilled to meet with Kristen and Noah (one of Kristen’s best friends from Boston) on Saturday for a wild Miami night. My lovely friend from New York, Liz, also joined us for a few drinks.

I had a blast, and although I went to bed around 5am, I woke up early the next day ready to meet my dad, who had just flown in.

We spent 2 perfect days together, eating great seafood, shopping, and enjoying each other’s company. I really missed him, and was extremely happy to see him. I was sad to say goodbye to him on Monday, but it was time to get on the plane again and meet Asia in Panama City.
