<<The traveler was active; he went strenuously in search of people, of adventure, of experience. The tourist is passive; he expects interesting things to happen to him. He goes "sight-seeing.">>
We spent one of our first free days from work walking around the Valley of the Moon, just outside of La Paz. It's a weirdly eroded maze of pinnacles and canyons that's supposed to look like the moon. It was good to finally get away from the crowded city.

When we had another day off together, we decided to get an adrenaline rush and went biking down the "death road" (La Paz - Coroico). Speeding down 65km on wheels on this narrow gravel road with cliffs up to 600m and breathtaking views made it one of the best days during our trips. It's surely not only the world's most dangerous road, but also the most beautiful one...

At the end we stopped for lunch at an animal shelter where we player with a few cute creatures.

We really wanted to celebrate our successful return (no bruises, no blood, no sand fly bites - we met a lot of hostel guests that came back with serious injuries), but we were so exhausted that we passed out right after dinner.
